Mission

The mission of Crimson Development is to provide professional web design and implementation expertise and services to small businesses adding value to their business by having a professional presence on the Internet/Web.

Design Philosophy

Each web site is designed to have a professional look and feel with easy navigation to key elements of the customers business. Each web site is implemented so that the customer or Crimson Development can easily update and maintain it with minimal time and effort reducing the overall costs of the web site to the customer significantly.

Staffing

Crimson Development is owned and operated by Jim Simpkins who is the chief designer and developer for all projects. Jim has been solving complex software problems since 1981. Jim's background as a software engineer allows him to design and develop easily maintained web-based solutions quickly and efficiently saving his customers significant dollars over time. Jim also has an extensive network of colleagues who can provide additional expertise as needed for specialize tasks or projects.

Jim Simpkins' Qualifications

  • Computer Science Degree from Washington State University
  • Has been working continuously in the high tech industry since 1981
  • Held software engineering positions with Boeing, EDS, and WRQ
  • Web designer and developer since 1997
  • Extensive experience designing and developing complex software solutions for Windows applications, PDA applications and Web based applications
  • Extensive experience designing and developing user interface projects
  • Extensive experience working with web based database projects using SQL Server and Access
  • Has lead many teams of software engineers during complex development projects
  • Graphic design experience for web based art work
  • Extensive networking contacts for specialized tasks as needed for a project
  • Professional photographer since 1972. Jim's photos have been published in such publications as the Seattle Times, Seattle PI, King County Journal, Spokesman Review, Issaquah Press, and others. He photos have also been used by wireserves AP and UPI. During his undergraduate years at Washington State University Jim was employed by the WSU Athletic Department as their staff photographer.

Community Involvement

Jim is committed to giving back to his community. Jim donates over 10% of his professional time developing web sites for non-profit organizations such as the Northwest Adoptive Families Association, Rotary Club of Sammamish and the Sammamish Little League. Jim is also actively involved serving on two non-profit boards, one International and one local, and is a member of the Rotary Club of Sammamish.
